Just a rant : I love a good thriller because in another life I was a detective that solved cases in converse sneakers and a corgi as a sidekick. Unlike normal detectives I would have a coffee and cinnamon roll addiction and my punchline would be ‘who took my pen, for crying out loud it’s pink’

Book Summary : I am still reeling from this book! What did I just read ?

The wife before follows Samira Wilder a young woman in her 20s with the most adorable brother but cannot keep a job. Her life changes when she meets pro golfer Roland Graham at a party and has a whirlwind relationship. The only catch or dent in the story is that his ex-wife is dead and he is a suspect. Nothing puts a halt in ever after than being suspicious of your spouse. The twists , the turns and the characters made this thriller spicy and I loved it. I recommend this thriller!

I absolutely enjoyed this book and I am itching for another one from Shanora Williams . I received a complimentary copy from Kensington Books and all opinions expressed are entirely my own

What I liked about the book? The plot and the character

Character/s I loved :Samira because I see some of myself in her and her brother because that’s every brother

Character/s I didn’t love : The jury is still out on that one

Just a rant: The fear of flying is now ignited in me! After watching snakes on a plane I had this fear of anyone with an oversized bag and now after this book I will be highly suspicious of anyone and everyone

Genre: Mystery/Thriller

Anci’s book summary: The book follows a family man and a pilot who has no idea what awaits him the moment he steps on a plane to New York.

Fasten you seat belt because once you open the book you will be on that plane feeling the plight of the crew and passengers aboard flight 416

Captain Bill Hoffman’s family has been kidnapped thirty minutes before his flight but he doesn’t know this yet. You can’t help but feel for the man because before he boarded he had a disagreement with his wife as it was a family night and he wasn’t supposed to be flying that day.
Once airborne, he is given the “choice” of crashing the plane to save his family OR saving the 149 souls onboard, instead

I kept reading to the end because the book is so fast paced and the twist I never saw coming was the icing on the cake

Character/s I loved : I have a soft spot for the flight crew and Theo

Character/s I related to: Theo ( acts first and thinks after)

Character/s that made me cringe: I will get back to you on that one

Cutest name ever : Theo

Book Review : A Zimbabwean Girl’s Take On The Hunting Wives

Just a rant :This book almost snatched my hairline because whew that Sophie character made some questionable decisions that had me eye-rolling a lot and I almost started drinking wine like a crazy person

Anci’s book summary : The Hunting wives follows Sophie O’Neill a woman who had a promising career and an envy worthy life in Chicago who leaves it all behind for a new life in a small town in Texas with her husband and son. While in Texas where she tends her garden and blogs she becomes somewhat enamored with the beautiful but elusive (read and call me out) Margot Banks. She quickly becomes fascinated with this woman and lucky for her she is invited to join the elite clique called The Hunting Wives. These wives love to drink (gosh could they drink), gossip and get up to no good. Things change when one of them is accused of murder and the tables are shaken. Who dies? Who did it? Now I can’t share because it will totally ruin the book for everyone because it’s one of those books you have to go into blind. The characters, the plot and that plot twist was done well that I am still recoevering.

What I loved about the book:

The plot (come one , who doesn’t love a main character that blogs

What I didn’t love about the book:

*The amount of drinking these ladies did gosh

*The way Sophie single handledly made me throw a sock to the wall in frustration

Character/s I loved : The jury is still out on that

Character/s I related to: Erin (I am so sorry Sophie)

Character/s that made me cringe: Callie (when you read the book you will know why) ,Margot and occassionally Harold

Cutest name ever : Let me get back to you

Murder by Page One- A Review

Just A Rant: I think cozy mysteries are going to be my thing from now *long sigggh* and can I also move to a smalltown and work in a library during the weekends? Also does anyone have a favourite coffee spot except me?

Anci’s Book Summary: Shut the front door!! A cozy by a black author is exactly what I needed to keep me warm on a cloudy day! Murder by Page one is the first in a series by Olivia Matthews and published by Hallmark Publishing.  This cozie (is this a word?) is set in a small town called Peach Coast and tells the story of Marvey who just moved from NYC to work at the library while trying to make her cat happy. One day Marvey attends a book launch party at Jo’s (Jo is her friend) bookstore. When the author fails to appear, the attendees search for her and find her body in the storage room. Marvey like a good friend works to clear her friend’s name *sigh*.
