Book Summary : This is a modern book telling version of Freaky Friday but between two students at an elite school for girls.

Empress and Aniya are two different people who are thrown together by their teacher.On their sixteenth birthday they cast a spell that results in them switching bodies.What follows is a story of two girls walking in each other’s shoes and discovering what it truly means to be a friend

Character/s I liked : Empress for her strength and Aniya for her character

Dear Martin- A Review

Just a rant: I didn’t expect to cry when I started this book but this book moved me to tears and yes I cried and yes my heart hurt

Genre : Young Adult

Anci’s book summary: This book tells the story of Justyce McAllister a smart young man headed to an Ivy League school who begins ‘ Dear Martin’ a series of letters to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr after an altercation with the police. One day he goes out with his friend Manny -music blasting and tons of conversations when a white off-duty pulls up next to them which results in a shooting *sob* . What happens next is for you to go read the book

Character/s I loved : SJ she was smart and was woke (yep I am cool too) and Justyce

Character/s I related to: The jury is still out on that

Happily Ever Afters- A review

Just a rant: Raise your hand if you are not a romance reader I will wait *smile*. If you know me you know I seek happy ever afters so I went into this book with the excitment of a seeker of happy ever afters.

The Voting Booth by Brandy Colbert-A Review

Genre: Young Adult

Just a rant: This is my first Brandy Colbert book and cue the books because I am all for more *wink* Brandy Colbert

What is the book about: 

It tells the story of Marva who is determined to make a difference in the world and is super ready to vote in her first election and Duke who is tired of being compared to his brother goes to VOTE just to be said he voted. So the book really begins when Marva sees Duke being turned away from the polling station and makes it her MISSION to get Duke to vote.

What I Liked About It: The book touched on the importance of young people voting, voter repression,racism and also a tad bitof privilidge

Favorite Character(s) :Marva and Duke
